ISAIAH 41:10-13 AMPC - Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.

11 Behold, all they who are enraged and inflamed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; they who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.

12 You shall seek those who contend with you but shall not find them; they who war against you shall be as nothing, as nothing at all.

13 For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!

Why We Should Not Fear:

  • God’s PRESENCE is with us “FEAR NOT for I am with you.” His companionship under all circumstances and all places guarantees our safety

  • God’s relation to us as our God “Don’t look around in terror and be afraid; for I AM your God. He gives Himself to us. We have the use of His Name.

  • The strength He promises to give us, “I will strengthen you.” This is actual imparted strength to us.

  • His promise of help, “I will help you.” Not only does He give us actual strength but He adds His strength to us.

  • His upholding, “Yes, I will hold you up with My victorious right Hand.” This is more than strength, more than help. It is God undertaking the entire responsibility for our case.

ISAIAH 43:1-7 AMPC - But now [in spite of past judgments for Israel’s sins], thus says the Lord, He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt [to the Babylonians] for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba [a province of Ethiopia] in exchange [for your release].

4 Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and because I love you, I will give men in return for you and peoples in exchange for your life.

5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east [where they are dispersed] and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, Give up! and to the south, Keep not back. Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the earth—

7 Even everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, whom I have made.

“I HAVE REDEEMED YOU, I HAVE CALLED YOU BY YOUR NAME; YOU ARE MINE.” The fact He has purchased us with the precious blood should be enough to guarantee every BLESSING we need. He will freely give us all things (Romans 8:32). After Calvary, anything. He says, “You are Mine.” We are HIS PROPERTY. He will take care of HIS PROPERTY.

He promises to go with us through the waters and the fires.  “You know my soul in adversities” (Psalm 31:7). The consolation of God far outweighs the pressure of our troubles.

God will not fail us. Nothing can work against His will.

ISAIAH 44:1-5 AMPC – Yet now hear, O Jacob, My servant and Israel, whom I have chosen.

2 Thus says the Lord, Who made you and formed you from the womb, Who will help you: Fear not, O Jacob, My servant, and you Jeshurun [the upright one—applied to Israel as a type of the Messiah], whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit upon your offspring, and My blessing upon your descendants.

4 And they shall spring up among the grass like willows or poplars by the watercourses.

5 One will say, I am the Lord’s; and another will call himself by the name of Jacob; and another will write [even brand or tattoo] upon his hand, I am the Lord’s, and surname himself by the [honorable] name of Israel.

He comforts His children with promises of great spiritual BLESSINGS. The Holy Spirit is the best antidote to our fears. When He comes in, all the interests of His good cause are safe and all fears are turned to thanksgiving and rejoicings.

ISAIAH 51:12-13 AMPC – 12 I, even I, am He Who comforts you. Who are you, that you should be afraid of man, who shall die, and of a son of man, who shall be made [as destructible] as grass,

13 That you should forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched forth the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and fear continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy or even though he did so? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

The sin of fear is an act of unbelief. It leads us to forget the Lord our Maker. It comes because people are problem conscious instead of power conscious. Fear of the oppressor (satan) is foolishness. People are worried about things that never come to pass. What a waste of life to worry!

ISAIAH 54:4-7 AMPC – 4 Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be confounded and depressed, for you shall not be put to shame. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and you shall not [seriously] remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

5 For your Maker is your Husband—the Lord of hosts is His name—and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth He is called.

6 For the Lord has called you like a woman forsaken, grieved in spirit, and heartsore—even a wife [wooed and won] in youth, when she is [later] refused and scorned, says your God.

7 For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion and mercy I will gather you [to Me] again.

8 In a little burst of wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, but with age-enduring love and kindness I will have compassion and mercy on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer.

9 For this is like the days of Noah to Me; as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.

10 For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.

11 O you afflicted [city], storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in fair colors [in antimony to enhance their brilliance] and lay your foundations with sapphires.

12 And I will make your windows and pinnacles of [sparkling] agates or rubies, and your gates of [shining] carbuncles, and all your walls [of your enclosures] of precious stones.

13 And all your [spiritual] children shall be disciples [taught by the Lord and obedient to His will], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of your children.

14 You shall establish yourself in righteousness (rightness, in conformity with God’s will and order): you shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction, for you shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

15 Behold, they may gather together and stir up strife, but it is not from Me. Whoever stirs up strife against you shall fall and surrender to you.

16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows on the fire of coals and who produces a weapon for its purpose; and I have created the devastator to destroy.

17 But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.

LET’S LOOK AT THIS MORE CLOSELY…….

His personal relation to HIS own (you). “Your Maker is your husband…” The husband cherishes his wife even at the cost of his life. The love of a true wife is stronger than death. God loves His children equally with His Son (John 17:23). We shall not be put so shame nor be confounded (Isaiah 54:4).

His Covenant and Oath. “So have I sworn that I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you” (Isaiah 54:9). Many Christians are under the law and they look to God as though they ever expected a frown or a blow. We should live in such perfect love that we could not imagine Him failing us or forgetting us. Christ has died for us and God in His great love is striving to get us to forget that there ever was sin between His heart and ours.

He promises us His protecting care (Isaiah 54:17). There will be enemies. There will be temptations. He wants our spirit, should and body to be preserved blameless unto His coming (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Preserve means to guard from loss or injury by keeping the eye upon. Luke 10:19 AMPC - Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. It simply means God will protect us from all the sicknesses and crippling diseases of the devil.

He promises us His own righteousness. Jesus is made unto us righteousness

1 Corinthians 1:30 AMPC – But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

We receive the gift of righteousness

Romans 5:17 AMPC -  For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justify us

Romans 8:33-34 AMPC – Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?]

Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?

Have you accepted the gift of Righteousness from God? If not, receive it now by faith say: Lord I receive Your gift of Righteousness right now, I am standing in your presence as I have never done anything wrong, in Jesus Name. Now, who can charge you with unrighteousness?

What will help us get rid of fear, the fear that has torment?

The devil’s fear are always lies. His suggestions are always false, and if he lies, they can not harm you. Fear comes from satan, then we can say that there is absolutely nothing to fear.

Fear is dangerous. It turns into fact the things we fear. It creates evil just as faith creates good.

The remedy to fear is:

1 John 4:17-18 AMPC - In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

Love is make perfect because we dwell in Him Who is Love

1 John 4:16 AMPC - And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.
